This year we’re adding two classes on November 10 geared for a parent-child bonding experience, taking place at 1:00pm and 3:00pm. We recommend this experience for kids ages 7 and up, as we work with hot glue guns, wire cutters, pruners and other sharp and dangerous tools. We also recommend one parent per child. Any questions please call us at 701-222-3333.
For the classes offered Nov 9-11, we’re calling them, “Oh Deer, Hunt for the Best Spruce Top Pot!” since it is deer hunting season opener weekend and we know a lot of families be split, as some venture out to fill their tags. We will have prizes and refreshments during this weekend. It’s a great way to get out and have a little fun while some of the family is away hunting.
Our Spruce Top ‘Make and Take’ events are great ways to spend an hour play in the dirt, get creative and make a beautiful display for the entryway to your home or business for the holidays! And, the best part, we clean up the mess!
Spruce top pots include a 12″ pot, potting soil, spruce tops and red twigged dogwood branches. We will have extra embellishments and bows available for purchase to add even more personality to your pot, if so desired! Price is $45/person/pot. If you would like to bring in your own pot, save $6.
Pre-registration is required to reserve your spot. Call 701.222.3333 to pre-register. Please call during our store hours, 9am-5pm Monday-Saturday.
Please bring your own gardening gloves to wear as you work, as the spruce tops can be prickly and sticky. If you do not have gardening gloves, we will have gloves available for purchase. If you would like to bring your own personal use hand pruners and wire cutters, that would be great, but we will have some to share. In addition, our class is held in our Lexan house attached to the nursery. It is heated, but can feel like you’re working in a heated garage. So bring a jacket in which you can work comfortably.
All attendees must be able to use a pruners, hedge clippers, hot glue gun and sharp wire safely. We do not recommend bringing young children to this class, but if you would like to do this as a parent-child experience, you sure can, we suggest children be 7 years old or older. And require one adult per child. We will be offering ‘Parent-Child’ classes on November 10 more geared towards kids, so if that interests you, check out classes on Nov. 10!
If you have a larger group and would like to book a private spruce top potting party, please call us at 701.222.3333.
Due to the fact that space is limited and our classes fill quickly, each attendee that does not show up will be charged for the price of one completed spruce top pot. Please give 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend the class to avoid being charged. In addition, the 24 hour notice allows us to call people on our waiting list to see if they would be able to join. Thank you!
